Cure, Tips & Treatments
Brushing your dog’s teeth at least 3 times a week is a must. It keeps your dog’s teeth clean and also helps in preventing gum diseases. There are breed specific tooth brushes and pastes available that you can buy from local pet stores.
Pet stores are filled with unhealthy dog foods, which can be a cause of bad breath. To fix that issue, you can give your dog home-cooked healthy food, but make sure it has all the essential nutrients required to raise a healthy and happy dog.
If you notice your dog is not drinking adequate amount of water every day, then that could be reason why he has bad breath. They generally stop drinking water when they are not doing any physical exercise. Therefore, you should make him play, run and exercise to make him drink water. Drinking adequate amount of water keeps their digestive system healthy which is important to cure your dog’s bad breath problem.
If you notice your Border Collie’s gums are bleeding, take him to the vet immediately and have him diagnosed. Timely treatment is very important if your dog has gum disease.
Depression can be a cause of bad breath in humans, and just like that it can happen to your dog as well. Therefore if you feel your dog isn’t active as he was always and don’t interact with you anymore, he could be suffering with depression and anxiety. The best way to fix this problem is to play with him, talk to him and take him for a walk at least two times a day. Let him socialize with people, other dogs and keep his mind stimulated, so that he won’t sit alone and feel bored.
